Corduroy Pie Co’s Graham Marceau is opening a new restaurant in Surrey

The topic of Vancouver’s best pizza came up at an industry dinner recently, and the four of us had a hard time settling on one spot. Which, if you ask me, is because the city’s best pizza restaurant closed in 2021.

Corduroy Pie Co felt like a true locals’ joint. Located on a quiet part of West 16th, it was the go-to place for cozying up with a glass of wine (served in a rocks glass, of course) and the city’s best ‘za. The restaurant closed in 2021 due to ownership issues during the pandemic and sadly never reopened.

The good news in this tale is that Corduroy Pie’s chef, Graham Marceau, is opening a new Italian joint—albeit in Surrey.

Located at The Hills golf course, Noble restaurant opens April 15, promising an exciting Italian American menu.

“We’ve really put a unique spin on traditional Italian dishes that we know people will love,” Marceau says in a statement.

The menu features both hand-stretched and square-pan pizzas (!!!), including a nod to Corduroy’s creative toppings with options like Bacon & Potato and Burrata & White Anchovy. There are also classic pasta dishes like Rigatoni A La Vodka and pappardelle with braised beef, as well as fun appetizers such as Suppli (fried pasta balls) and calamari with red onion and jalapeno.

Joining Marceau on the Noble team are executive chef Travis McCord (whose resume includes Oca and L’abattoir), general manager Jason Margoreeth (Browns), and owner/managing partner Chris Meyer (Wayback Brew Co.).

According to a release, Noble’s concept came together faster than you can say “meatballs”: just six weeks was all it took to redesign and renovate the space. Mamma mia!
