So.Cial's new fall menu
Reliable signs of summer's end are goose bumps at Wreck Beach and the launch of new fall menus. First out of the gate is Sean Cousins of So.Cial at Le Magasin (332 Water Street) with a bar and lounge menu that is yum start to finish. Read this little aloud: crispy squid with chili-spiked honey, smoked paprika salt, and field greens ($12); Fraser Valley lamb shepherd's pie with organic veggies and onion rings ($14); and mussels and fries with housemade chorizo, thyme, and aioli ($15). And don't forget his deli deal at $7, Cousins's small sandwich and beer combo (available till 7 p.m.) is among the best buys in town.
