Before banger season ends for another year, get yourself over to Oyama Sausage Company at Granville Island Public Market and throw some of their butter chicken sausages on the barbecue. These are quality sausages, made with organic chicken from Bradner Farms in Aldergrove ($1.99 for 100 grams), and they deliver a heftier kick than you might expect. Good with basmati rice, mango chutney, or lime pickle, and a thrown-together raita of yogurt, mint, and cucumber. Pick up a package of roti to make a quasi–South Asian hot dog.
