Phil Spector trial ends in mistrial
The five-month murder trial of record producer Phil Spector was declared a mistrial on Wednesday because jurors could not agree on a verdict after 12 days of deliberation. Spector is now free on bail, but the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has stated that it will immediately begin preparing for a retrial.
Spector was charged with second-degree murder in the death of B-movie actress Lana Clarkson, who died of gunshot wounds at the producer's house nearly five years ago.
