The Best of the Colbert Report
The Report has been on television for barely two years and Comedy Central has already thrown a gift set together. It’s a shameless marketing ploy to cash in on Christmas, but we’d expect nothing less from Colbert, and that’s why we love him.
The Devil Came on Horseback
A brave documentary by a U.S. marine who returned home from war-torn Darfur and made its tragic story public. U.S. Marine Capt. Brian Steidle gives viewers access to the darkest parts of the Sudan crisis, which were previously unreachable by outside observers.
No End in Sight
One of the best documentaries on post–Saddam Hussein Iraq to date. While No End in Sight is notable for how clearly it spells out the United States’s failures, it is exceptional for the light it sheds on those who truly did care for the Iraqi people and tried their best to help.
Seinfeld—The Complete Series
Nine years off the air and still one of the best sitcoms on television. Here it is in all of its 32 DVDs and 180 episodes of glory. Extras are bountiful and add up to 104 hours of time well wasted on a show about nothing. There’s a cast reunion, interviews with executive producer Larry David, deleted scenes, blooper reels, documentaries for all nine seasons, yada yada yada…

Widely viewed as a step forward for Michael Moore (he spent much less time in front of the camera than in previous films), Sicko helped to frontline the debate on healthcare in America. CNN had its fun looking for factual errors, but even Fox News called Sicko “brilliant”.
