Beard Papa cream puffs

Sure, you could nibble away at those half-priced bags of Halloween candy until Christmas. But in the interest of avoiding compounding calories, take your indulgence in one shot instead–or rather, one puff. Cream-puff king Beard Papa's has just opened its first Canadian store in Aberdeen Centre's food court (4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond). Since its start in Osaka in 1999, the chain has gained a loyal following in Japan and other Asian countries for its crispy choux pastry, which is injected with custard and dusted with powdered sugar. While stores abroad feature flavours like chocolate and green tea, this outlet is sticking to the original vanilla flavour for now ($1.75 each).
