Fighting out loud with your partner may save your life

When your partner pisses you off, do you yell at them, or bottle it up inside?

What you decide to do may determine how long you live.

The results of a preliminary study from the University of Michigan suggest that couples who openly quarrel and fight (I presume they mean verbally rather than physically) live longer than those who suppress their anger and keep their aggravations inside.

However, I wonder if the application of this finding extends beyond just relationships, but how people deal with their anger in general. Those who didn't express their anger towards their partner may have conducted themselves similarly in other daily situations.

Nonetheless, it's interest fodder to consider the next time you face a conflict with your partner.

But it does create a strange predicament: do you want to live a long life filled with fighting with your partner, or a shorter one albeit more peacefully?
