Allan De Genova wants the Vision Vancouver nomination for mayor

It's official. CBC Radio's Stephen Quinn reported this morning that Al De Genova has decided to seek the Vision Vancouver nomination for mayor of Vancouver. Of course, regular readers of the Straight would know that De Genova was considering this last November.

Last month, the Straight also reported that De Genova's daughter Melissa will seek a Vision Vancouver nomination for park board.

Melissa De Genova organized youths to help Sam Sullivan win the NPA mayoral nomination in 2005. She became disenchanted with the NPA after Sullivan booted her father out of the caucus in 2006.

This came after De Genova spoke frankly about NPA park-board commissioner Heather Holden's decision to vote on a park-board restaurant policy while Holden was employed by the Vancouver Aquarium and Marine Science Centre.
