Laugh for the health of it—it's contagious

When's the last time you had a good laugh? A really good laugh?

If you have a stressful job or life, and haven't laughed in a while, you may want to schedule a good bellyacher in your daytimer.

Numerous studies suggest that laughter has a variety of health benefits. Here's a long list of the potential health benefits of laughing.

And believe it or not, there's even laughter yoga. (Does that mean there'll be laughter lattés too?)

Of course, fooling around too much can be inappropriate at times, but if you're too serious, you may run the risk of exacerbating stress-related health problems. Laughter helps to break tension, get perspective on things, and just generally make you feel good.

And while we hear so much about germs and colds (and even depressing moods) being contagious, laughter is contagious too.

Of course, sometimes laughter can be a problem. Especially when you have to be serious. On the other hand, it could be a sign that you have been too serious and are in dire need of some levity.
