Two B.C. screenwriters snagged top spots at the 12th annual Canadian Screenwriting Awards given out at Brant House in Toronto on April 14.
TV screenwriter Ian Weir won the award for best movie of the week or miniseries for Dragon Boys, a CBC miniseries about Asian Canadian organized crime in Vancouver.
Travis McDonald scooped the best feature film award for the Victoria-shot Normal, a drama about a group of people affected by a fatal car accident; the film was directed by Carl Bessai and stars Carrie-Anne Moss and
Kevin Zegers.
