The previously-mentioned Normal also showed up in the first round of Leo Awards nominees, announced on April 9. The film will compete against Battle in Seattle, They Wait, Crossing, and Elijah for best feature-length drama.

Documentary nominees include Saving Luna, Gwen Haworth’s She’s a Boy I Knew, and the TV series 4Real.

The awards will be presented in Vancouver on May 23 and 24.

The Leo Awards also announced a call for entries for the fourth annual Channel M Diversity in Cultures Award. The $10,000 cash prize will be given to help complete the development or production of a project that promotes cultural diversity in B.C. The deadline for submissions is April 25.
