The Father, the Son, and the Holy Sprint

In her letter regarding China, Tibet, and the Olympics, Clare Marie Belanger exposes her ignorance of religion and her lack of compassion for the Chinese and Tibetan people [Letters, April 24–May 1].

When she suggests that the Dalai Lama invite God to the Olympics to prove “its” existence and then snidely dismisses “glorifying an invisible friend”, she not only insults monotheists but shows that she neither knows nor cares about Buddhism, which does not talk about a creator god.

China’s people, both Han and Tibetan, are being poorly served by China’s leaders, who, like Ms.
Belanger, don’t seem very concerned about bridging the differences between these two ethnicities.
