Indiana Jones gets the Lego treatment

By Miles Keir

Lego. Indiana. Jones.

Three words that can give a fan-boy goose bumps faster than Halle Berry in one of her skin-tight, leather-clad roles.

One of this summer's highly-anticipated movies, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (whew!), is getting the Lego treatment with Traveller's Tales’ Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. The Star Wars Lego games were an unexpected hit when they were released in 2005, rising above the initial awww, cuuuute factor with spot-on controls and a healthy dose of humour lacking in most video games.

Having played them almost as many times as I've seen the movies, the switch from light sabre to bull whip is a welcome change. As with the last series you'll be puzzle solving by assembling Lego pieces and compulsively collecting studs (which sounds like something you'd do in an M-rated title) to get rewards.

The game follows the first three movies recreating every iconic scene from Raiders' under-the-truck car-jacking, Temple’s rope-bridge hack 'n' slash, to Last Crusade’s, uh, chase the guy wearing the fez in the speedboat.

Can’t wait to snap the whip to hear that oh-so-satisfying wh-thiwt!

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures will be available June 3. The movie whips onto screens May 22.
