Screening of documentary about women's breasts

Breasts. Men oggle them. Babies feed from them. But they are an integral part of women's lives.

A B.C. film called Seventeen Short Films About Breasts by filmmaker Cathryn Robertson documents women talking about their breasts, diagnoses of cancer, dealing with the medical system, and coping with the aftermath of a masectomy.

The various stories include a 23 year old dealing with the loss of her breast to the five-year ordeal of a 39 year old woman with metastasized breast cancer.

The film is nominated for five Leo Awards.

It will be screened at the Kay Meek Centre (1750 Mathers Ave., West Vancouver) on May 9 at 7 p.m.
