And for the record, John Lennon had a pretty good relationship with his mother. But she was killed in a car accident when he was quite young. She wasn't a great mother, but they really did get along. She was actually the one who gave him his first guitar, if memory serves me correct. John’s father did leave them when John was just a kid, so those two probably didn’t get along all so well. It was John and his aunt, (who John was forced to live with after his mother was killed,) that had a bad relationship. John’s aunt never thought that his musical aspirations would take him anywhere.
