Black Door opens for Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Artists and photographers are being asked to contribute to another upcoming benefit, this time for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event, to be held at the Black Door (7 East 2nd Avenue) on June 14, will also act as a fundraiser for the Green Mountain Music Festival, taking place in Nanaimo on July 19. Both concerts are being organized by vocalist James Wood (aka Jim Legacy) of locals the Hotel Lobbyists, who will perform at the Vancouver show along with Shiloh Lindsay, the Smokes, and No Horses. Wood’s fiancée, Kim Black, was born with cystic fibrosis.

The call for art is being put out by Petri Dish proprietor Jackie Dives. “There will also be a raffle, a spanking booth, and an art show,” Dives explained about the Black Door event. Dives is asking specifically for live band photos, but is placing no other restrictions on submissions. Contributors will receive 50 percent of the revenue, with the other half going to the CCFF. Dives can be contacted at divesin@gmail.com.
