In the straight world, there are beauty pageants and bodybuilding competitions. Some people might think a Mr. Gay Canada competition would be a fusion of the two. With a sequined tambourine.

But it's not.

This competition has a socially conscious angle to it. It's about the search for the most qualified spokesman, ambassador, positive role model, and possible future leader for the gay community. It's about smashing stereotypes. And speaking out about human rights.

The winner will go on to compete in the International Mr. Gay Competition.

A nationwide search for Mr. Gay Canada is set to be held in Whistler this year from September 18 to 21.

Only one delegate per town or city is accepted.

So get your applications together because they have to be received by August 1st.
