Because of a pending court case, singer Boy George has been denied a visa to enter the United States. This has forced the former Culture Club front man to cancel his scheduled North American tour (which was to stop in Vancouver on July 21).
Boy George faces a trial in London in November for allegedly imprisoning a male escort. The singer's camp maintains that, since he hasn't been convicted of anything, there is no reason he should be prevented from travelling.
UPDATE: According the fan site 100% Boy, the official word is that the tour has not been cancelled, and that the artist and his management are still hoping to come to an agreement with U.S. authorities. As of Thursday afternoon, the Ticketmaster Canada Web site is still offering tickets for Boy George's four Canadian stops (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto), as well as his 22 scheduled U.S. dates.
