Bed-hopping bisexual men abound on screen
You know the whole female bisexual-for-show thing has jumped the couch-potato shark when Lindsay Lohan starts pulling an Anne Heche. But it's just too bad you don't hear much about male stars doing the same swinging thing.
Right now, though, on screen, there's been a sudden flurry of bisexual men to gawk at.
Last week at the French Film Festival at the Park Theatre, Les Chansons d'amour (Love Songs) featured Louis Garrel (The Dreamers) in a tricky love triangle with two other women, only to move on from that into a tryst with a lovestruck male.
Meanwhile, the tragic details of Barbara Daly Baekeland's life are dramatized in Savage Grace, which was released here last Friday.
Her son Tony flits back and forth between men and women, as does his mother's gay friend Sam.
However, a dark undercurrent of mental illness informs the increasingly disturbing sexual encounters.
On a different note, the forthcoming Brideshead Revisited (which opens on Friday) promises to include a gay kiss, as the central male character courts and is courted by both a girl and her brother.
So plenty to choose from, boys and girls. Especially if you're bi.
