On the eve of the Vancouver Pride parade, the Straight, as well as a long list of other Canadian news publications, received a news release from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas.

According to the news release, God hates Canada, "land of Sodomite sin", beacuse it "is a filthy country run by fags".

The church is famous for organizing demonstrations and protests at gay funerals and events.

They also run the Web site God Hates Fags.
