That's truly Vancouver Special

Contemporary-design-minded Vancouverites have a new place to go for inspiration, and it’s located in the heart of the city’s hippest ”˜hood.

Opened in April by UBC architecture and art-history grad Anne Pearson, Vancouver Special (3612 Main Street) caters to the aesthetically obsessed with books, furniture, art, and accessories from Scandinavia, Japan, and the United States.

We’re drooling over the sweet gadgets made by Boston-based Tivoli Audio and the Jetlag wall clock from Italy’s Nava Design (shown above; $130). Look for local goods, too, including Gailan Ngan’s ceramics.
