NBA Live 09, which was released today in North America and will be available worldwide on October 10, is set to become the most true-to-life NBA game to date with its bunch of great new features.

One of the most interesting ones is the Dynamic DNA (which is powered by Synergy Sports Technology). This was created to emulate NBA players and give a more realistic feel to each player.

There are three components to the DNA system. The first is for individual players; the second for team play; thirdly, tendencies which relates to how the player shoots form every part of the floor and how they drive to to the net from both the left and right sides of the court.

Sports Technology keeps a tally of every possession of every NBA game in real time, producing 100 times the amount of metadata available from other stats services and has performed more than 50 million data entry points in the last two years.

The second great feature, which is also in the NHL 09 game, is Online Team Play. This is where a gamer makes their own player from scratch and puts him/herself in the game. You can test out your skills with online teamplay quick match, or team up with some friends and run the court against other squads around the world.

Finally, EA is introducing a pick-and-roll control feature as well as defensive lockdown control, signature play calling and quick strike ankle breakers. If you are new to the NBA Live franchise or want to hone your skills, you can go through the NBA academy to learn all the new features.

NBA 09 is available on XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and PS2.
