Hedy Fry attacks NDP, Greens in victory speech

At 10:30 p.m. tonight (October 14), reelected Vancouver Centre MP Hedy Fry walked into the Sheraton Wall Centre ballroom to a hero's welcome.

It's the sixth time the Liberal MP has won a seat in Parliament.

In her victory speech, Fry said, "We are not going to work with the NDP."

She declared the NDP the "spoilers" of this federal election.

Fry also had this to say about the Green party: "The Green party was the Ralph Nader of Canadian politics."

She ended the speech by saying, "Let's get building Liberals, let's get building."

At 11 p.m., reelected Vancouver Quadra MP Joyce Murray also walked into a boisterous welcome.

It was at 10:05 p.m. that Raymond Chan entered the ballroom. The defeated Richmond MP was met by people saying they were sorry and that he was great.

At 11:15 p.m., it appeared that the Liberals were about to wrap up their party.
