Awnings article strikes reader as all wet

“Write a letter.” I have always said that to people who are complaining about something, more as a joke than anything. In fact, I say it as a joke. I cannot believe that I am now writing a letter. It is in regards to the December 4-11 issue of the Georgia Straight [“City’s awnings leave us wet”]. Now, I don’t know what is worse: the content of the article or the fact that it was even made an article.

Give me a break! Get an umbrella! Do you know where you live, Erick Villagomez? Do you? You live in Raincouver. That’s what it’s called. Deal with it. You don’t like it? Move!

It is illogical to blame the city for the fact that the awnings aren’t big enough to cover you up when it inevitably rains. You know it’s going to rain. Again, I say, get an umbrella.
