City of Vancouver has posted vacancies for seven cultural planners

The City of Vancouver’s Web site lists seven employment opportunities for cultural planners.

They include positions in the following areas: public art, culture-plan implementation, facilities development, and outreach. These jobs pay between $63,808 to $93,193 per year, with a 3.5 percent wage increase effective January 1.

There is also an opening for a senior cultural planner—partnerships and promotions, which reports to Sue Harvey, the managing director of cultural services. The pay ranges from $78,794 to $93,193 per year, and there’s a preference for master’s degree in fine art or cultural planning. There’s also a 3.5 percent wage increase that kicks in on January 1.

Shortly after the November 15 civic election, Vision Vancouver councillor Heather Deal told the Straight’s Jessica Werb that there would be staffing changes in the city’s office of cultural affairs.
