Royal Canadian Air Farce takes its final flight on the air

Sadly, the CBC's comedic institution of political satire, Royal Canadian Air Farce, will be permanently grounded when its Air Farce New Year's Eve Final Flight (Dec. 31, 8 p.m.) concludes the show's 16 year run on TV.

The last episode will be a farewell retrospective, with a look back at some of 2008's top stories. Expect to see Stephen Harper, Stéphane Dion, and Michael Ignatieff embroiled in Canadian political confusion. Keep an eye out also for international newsmakers, such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, James Bond, and Guitar Hero.

The seasonal classic, It's a Wonderful Investment, will be shown, and the donut shop will close its doors forever.

The traditional firing of the Chicken Cannon (in which 2008's most infamous newsmaker will be deluged with splatter) will conclude the show along with a final bow from Roger Abbott, Don Ferguson, Luba Goy, Jessica Holmes, Craig Lauzon, Alan Park, and Penelope Corrin.
