MS Songsmith remixes are downright surreal

Followers of the Straight 's Tech Blog no doubt already know about Microsoft Songsmith, a piece of highly useless software that instantly adds cheesy instrumental backing, complete with chord changes, to anything you sing.

A few clever folks have come up with an alternative use for the program, however. They have used it to create new backing tracks for a cappella versions of various popular songs. The results, as you can see for yourself below, are seriously bizarre.

Radiohead, "Creep"

Van Halen, "Runnin' With the Devil"

The Police, "Roxanne"

The Cars, "Just What I Needed"

Oasis, "Wonderwall"

Doobie Brothers, "Long Train Running"

And now, let us await the inevitable remixes and mashups of these versions.
