On February 12, this city will host a charity event that’s truly the first of its kind.

The Vancouver Twestival is one of over 100 fundraisers planned for the same day in cities around the world—all of them organized on Twitter.

Twestival proceeds will benefit the organization charity: water, which supports clean-water projects in developing countries.

Local organizer and blogger Rebecca Bollwitt, aka Miss 604, hopes that at least 100 Vancouverites will attend.

She told the Straight, “There’ll be food and hopefully drinks, and just networking and hanging out with a lot of people you’ve probably tweeted with or added on Twitter and never met before.”
