SFU vs. UBC at CIS Pacific Division men's basketball playoffs

March Madness—Canadian style—starts tonight with a crosstown showdown as Simon Fraser visits UBC to open the CIS Pacific Division men's basketball playoffs. With a record of 21-2 and riding a nine-game winning streak, the T-Birds are the top team in the Canada West and are ranked second nationally. The Thunderbirds are bidding for a third straight Canada West title and another trip to the national tournament. SFU enters the weekend coming off a 14-9 regular season which included three losses to UBC earlier in the year.

The Birds and Clan will go at it tonight and tomorrow night (February 13 and 14)—with a third and deciding game if necessary scheduled for Sunday. All of the games will be played at UBC's War Memorial Gym—where the T-Birds were 11-0 this season—and all of the games are slated to tip off at 7 p.m.
