Today's Vancouver Woman (formerly Shared Vision) ceases publishing
The recession has claimed a local magazine.
Today’s Vancouver Woman, formerly known as Shared Vision, will go on “hiatus” after the March issue is published, according to publisher and editor Rebecca Ephraim. The publication is owned by Raven Eagle Partners.
In a statement on the magazine’s Web site, Ephraim wrote that when she became publisher three-and-a-half years ago, the magazine was “deeply in the red”. She claimed that losses were reduced by 70 percent over the next three years, and the company anticipated turning a profit by the end of this year.
“What could possibly happen to turn that around and threaten the magazine’s future? You know the answer, as this historic economic downturn has probably touched each and every one of you,” she wrote.
