Vikram Vij sets his sights on Cambie Street
While I was researching our Golden Plates issue, I heard a rumour that restaurateur Vikram Vij had bought a building on Cambie Street.
I tried to reach Vij, owner of Vij's and Rangoli restaurants. He sent an e-mail saying it's too early to discuss this situation, but confirmed that he bought a building on Cambie.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a new Indian restaurant popping up on the street--possibly near the Park Theatre--at some point in the future.
Vij and his wife Meeru Dhalwala have appeared in a Canada Line campaign saying they "shop the line". Maybe they'll soon be serving food along the line as well.

I hope they bought the Aroy-D, purple nurple building at 15th & Cambie. That structure is poorly designed and a dog for anyone occupying it. A Vij restaurant would be a good draw for that part of Cambie.
