Victor Vrsnik says third-party work is separate from what he does for Liberal Ralph Sultan

By Charlie Smith,

One of the architects of a third-party advertising campaign to discredit the NDP  has acknowledged that he has done a flyer for West Vancouver-Capilano Liberal MLA Ralph Sultan.

Victor Vrsnik is the coordinator of the Coalition of B.C. Businesses, which is behind the www.jobsforbc.com/ Web site. The site  promotes the B.C. Liberals as the best choice for small businesses.

The Straight has previously reported that his public-relations company, Spire Public Relations, listed Sultan's constituency association in its "portfolio" section among other clients.

Vrsnik told the Straight over the phone that he has helped Sultan in the past, and did a flyer for the constituency's Web site.

"I've worked for Ralph as a person, not as a company," Vrsnik said. "Me. Myself. The company? No."

When asked if he was compensated for working for Sultan, he replied, "I don't get paid for any of this."

So what about the flyer? "Only at cost," Vrsnik replied.

He also asked what the point was behind these questions.

It was pointed out that election advertising sponsors, such as the Coalition of B.C. Businesses, must not sponsor election advertising with political parties, constituency associations, candidates, agents, or financial agents.

Vrsnik then said that the work he does with the www.jobsforbc.com  site is "separate" from anything he is doing for the West Vancouver-Capilano Liberal constituency association.

Vrsnik is a former provincial director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

OMG -- where do the Libs find these guys?? @ the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, I guess, LOL!

Why hasn't elections BC brought the hammer down on this fool?

I used to vote Lib but I can tell you now that Green is the way to go, people. I would even vote Conservative instead of Liberal because at least both parties would avoid scammers like Versnik.
