      Wear your city
From its name to its screen-printed designs, Nine O'Clock Gun's T-shirt line refracts Vancouver's culture through the eyes of artist Ray Dalupang. Each image tells a story. On Vancouver Special, the infamous Vancouver box house replaces Mount Fuji beneath Katsushika Hokusai's iconic ocean wave. Tree branches unfurl from the face of a famous local environmentalist on The Knowledge Tree. Shirts sell for $39 at stores like Life of Riley (3695 Main Street), Vancouver Special (3612 Main Street), and Riot Clothing (1395 Commercial Drive).

      Seize the sandal
Gladiator sandals get revamped this season: Sam Edelman's modern interpretation features four Velcro, chic hook-and-loop straps with multiple straps across, a thin heel, and a thick back strap that wraps around the ankle. The look comes in trendy metallic pewter or gold snake print, patent black snake print, and, for the more daring fashionista, black-and-white snake print. Available at Hills of Kerrisdale (2125 West 41st Avenue, $106).

      Twenty-first-century time
Analog watches are so last century—it's time to go binary. The brainchild of designer Anton Kraft, 01THE ONE watches use the numeral system to represent time. Each features separate bands of LED lights, which denote hours and minutes. The Gamma Ray series ($199 to 219) features LEDs arranged in circular clock-face patterns that give a constellation effect when they light up. 01THE ONE has recently tapped artist Joseph Bauer for pop-art-inspired enamel watch faces; designs include the revolutionary Ché Guevara ($335, shown here). Available at Boys' Co Metropolis (4700 Kingsway, Burnaby) and Moulé (1994 West 4th Avenue).

      Rock star style
Converse has licensed iconic imagery from British rock legends for its spring series of Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers. Converse looked to album covers for its Pink Floyd series, including The Dark Side of the Moon. Available in both a low- and high-top, these bad boys are screen-printed and finished with a subtle pulse wave detail on the sides of the soles. The Who-inspired designs include the Union Jack, with fabric strips stitched on top of the shoe's white base and the band's logo attached to the tongue. Retailing from $70 to $130, they're at El Kartel (1025 Robson Street), Gravity Pope (2205 West 4th Avenue), and Hitz Boutique (316 West Cordova Street).

      Get feathered
Ostrich, peacock, and pheasant plumes ruled the spring's runways, and now they're taking flight on this season's must-have accessories. Diane Yang's elegant chandelier-style earrings feature three small aquamarine feathers set off by aqua crystals and intricate gold threading. Also available in black, they're at Blue Ruby (various locations, $120).
