Cassandra’s Dream
Written and directed by Woody Allen, this film stars Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as brothers who incur a debt to their uncle Howard (Tom Wilkinson) that they must pay back through murder.

House of Saddam
This four-part miniseries from BBC Television and HBO Films chronicles the life of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, from his 1979 coup of Iraq to his capture in 2003 and resulting trial and death sentence in 2006.

The Reader
Fifteen-year-old Michael (David Kross) has an affair with Hanna (Kate Winslet), a woman 11 years his senior. After her abrupt departure from his life, he re-encounters her eight years later when she is on trial for crimes she committed as a prison guard at Auschwitz. Also starring Ralph Fiennes as the adult Michael.

The Spirit
Director Frank Miller (Sin City) mines the comic-book genre yet again for this noirish adaptation of Will Eisner’s classic strip about a cop-turned-vigilante known as the Spirit (Gabriel Macht), his nemesis the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), and a couple of busty foes (Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson).

Who is KK Downey?
A literary hoax is at the centre of this Canadian comedy about Theo, a struggling writer, and his unemployed musician friend Terrance. Desperate for success, Terrance takes on the persona of the lead character in Theo’s novel—the titular KK Downey—in hopes of passing the story off as an autobiography.
