Canadian box office April 24 to 30: Beyoncé can't beat Efron, Dédé stays on top

Fighting films didn't pack enough of a punch to knock 17 Again out of the top spot at the Canadian box office.

Beyoncé fending off a stalker in Obsessed and the plainly titled Fighting both lacked a strong enough punch to defeat Zac Efron and Matthew Perry in 17 Again, which held its position at number one for a second week.

The only other new debut on the international charts in Canada was The Soloist at number nine.

Gone from the top ten are the bromantic I Love You, Man, the mall comedy Observe and Report, and the suspenseful Knowing.

On the Canadian charts, things remained relatively the same. The Quebec film Dédé stayed at number one for its seventh week in a row. It's drawn in a cumulative $1,675,972 thus far.

The remaining top five simply shifted positions—One Week (which luckily didn't live up to its namesake on the charts) swapped places with The Necessities of Life (now in its 26th week of release) and Stone of Destiny exchanged positions with Suzie—but there weren't any new entries.
