The Vancouver East Cultural Centre’s executive director Heather Redfern has been awarded the third annual Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award. The award, launched in 2007, is sponsored by Toronto’s Tarragon Theatre and administered by the PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatres) Communications Centre.

The $5,000 prize includes a $1,000 portion to be presented to a protégé; Redfern has selected Montreal-based curator, agent, producer, and dramaturg Kris Nelson as her recipient.

The award was presented May 31, at the PACT annual conference in Montreal.
