Rogers to sell iPhone 3G S in Canada for $199 and $299, rep tweets

Rogers Wireless and Fido will begin selling the new iPhone 3G S for $199 (16GB model) and $299 (32GB) on June 19.

That same day, Rogers will drop the price of the 8GB model of the iPhone 3G to $99.

Of course, these prices are contingent on a customer signing up for a three-year voice and data plan with the company.

Keith McArthur, senior director of social media and digital communications at Rogers Communications, posted these details on Twitter this afternoon (June 8).

“Rogers is reintroducing the $30/6GB data plan for iPhones effective tomorrow, June 9. Offer available for a limited time,” McArthur tweeted.

The prices are in line with those announced today by Apple for the U.S.

Any indication about tethering in Canada? I know they flashed a list of countries that would allow tethering. Was Canada on it?

The price hasn't been revealed yet, as far as I know. The spokesperson tweeted today: "There will be a no-contract price for customers who want to upgrade before they're eligible for a subsidy."

Just called Rogers to take advantage of the $30 for 6GB data plan (as mentioned released today June 9). I was turned down and told that this plan is only offered for the HTC phone and the new Google phone. Furthermore, this plan will only be available to customers who purchase the new Iphone 3Gs and sign up for the data plan. So, why announce that the plan is available today when you can't sign up til the new phones are out. So, 1st gen Iphone users can not take advantage of this $30 plan?

Pippalicious,

As an employee of rogers I'm not going to lie when I say this but the people working at the call centers dont know what their talking about half the time. Tell them it uses the same SOC code and that is a promotion currently available and to talk to their supervisor on duty to get the matter resolved. If that doesnt go well, talk to customer relations - the job will be done.
