Pajo's floats on delicious fish and chips

There’s no better view of a river than when you’re on it. And fish and chips doesn’t get closer to the water than at Pajo’s, situated on a floating raft just off the wharf in Steveston. The blazing-hot afternoon I visited, the seafood shack was being slammed with orders. We waited 20 minutes for our cod ’n’ chips (a small order is $7.89; with salmon it’s $8.39 or $8.99 for halibut) but didn’t mind soaking up the sun. Pajo’s has plenty of floating and boardwalk seating, with clever tables that have holes carved out to cradle the cone-shaped, paper-wrapped meals.
