So You Think You Can Dance Canada eliminates Vancouver's Taylor James

Alack and alas, B.C. has already lost one of its hopes for winning So You Think You Can Dance Canada early on in the competition. Vancouver’s Taylor James was one of the two dancers eliminated from the national contest.

James, who ended up with a bloody mouth during his tango routine with Melanie Buttarazzi of Woodbridge, Ontario on Tuesday (August 25) night, ended up in one of the three couples who received the lowest number of votes from the audience. Out of the three male dancers who performed solos as their final bid to stay on the show, the judges decided James was the one to have to leave.

In spite of the bad news, he remained cheerful and positive.

Fellow Vancouverite Emanuel Sandhu, however, was luckier. His jaw fell open in shock when he was informed that he and his partner Kim Gingras of Montréal, who had performed an MC Hammer–inspired hip-hop dance, were not in the bottom three couples.

From the bottom three girls, the judges decided that Tatiana Parker of Toronto, in spite of a strong hip-hop solo, would be the one to give a tearful goodbye.

The next performance episode, featuring the remaining 18 dancers, will air on Tuesday (September 1).
