Georgia Straight publisher Dan McLeod to go live On the Record at Rock 101

Georgia Straight publisher Dan McLeod has always had a passion for music. In fact, some readers may recall that there were periods of the 1970s when the paper covered little else besides rock and roll.

And so the Straight is excited to inform readers that on Thursday (September 10) at 8:00 a.m., McLeod will appear on Classic Rock 101's Bro Jake Show and spend an hour talking music and playing a few of his favourite songs.

“There are too many great artists to fit into a one hour show,” McLeod wrote in an e-mail. “I narrowed the list down to artists who I knew personally, or who had a profound influence on me during those days.”

Among others, listeners can expect to hear tunes by Jimi Hendrix, the Velvet Underground, and John Lennon.

Recent guests of Bro Jake's On the Record program include “prince of pot” Marc Emery, Loverboy keyboardist Doug Johnson, and Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson.

To listen in, turn your radio dial to 101.1 FM or head over to Rock 101’s Web site at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.
