New this year to the Vancouver International Film Festival’s 24th annual Film and TV Forum, which runs from September 29 to October 2, is Storyville Vancouver. This collaborative initiative with B.C. public broadcaster Knowledge (formerly Knowledge Network) is designed to stimulate documentary funding, and it includes a pitch session involving commissioning editors from the BBC, the NFB, Danish Public Broadcasting, and more.

Late changes to the forum include an added panel, All Go for Co-Pros, on international feature-film coproductions (September 29), with producers Niv Fichman (Passchendaele), Tina Pehme. Kim Roberts (A Shine of Rainbows), and Elizabeth Yake (It’s All Gone Pete Tong). Exploiting Sound, Exploring Silence, on sound design and editing, will replace the Frame by Frame editing master class on September 29; it features Craig Berkey and Skip Lievsay (No Country for Old Men ). Also added, on October 3, is a session on cinematographers Frederick Elmes (Blue Velvet, The Ice Storm) and Ellen Kuras (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ).
