New A Nightmare on Elm Street trailer actually looks kind of scary

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and it looks like the film might actually be scary.

This is the perfect horror movie to do a remake of, because special effects have taken giants steps since the original release. Hopefully, this version will make things a bit more real and less cheesy than the original.

Okay, I’ll admit it; I did get scared when I watched the original when I was a kid. But the sequels just made me laugh.

A Nightmare on Elm Street will star Jackie Earle Haley, who was fantastic as Rorschach in Watchmen, as Freddy Krueger.

Samuel Bayer, who has directed mostly music videos, is taking the reigns on this project as director. It’s hard to say if the movie will be good, since we don’t have any other movies of his to base an opinion on.

The film is scheduled to be released on April 30, 2010.
