Sad news for Emanuel Sandhu fans.

The 28-year-old Olympic figure skater from Vancouver was eliminated last night (October 14) from the top six dancers on the national TV competition So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

19-year-old contemporary dancer Melanie Mah from Richmond Hill, Ontario was also eliminated from the top three female dancers.

Sandhu persevered through the competition in spite of breaking his fingers and spraining his ankle.

Fellow Vancouverite Taylor James was the first male dancer to be eliminated from the top 20 finalists, on August 26.

But there's great news for fans of Tara-Jean Popowich. The Vancouver resident,  originally from Lethbridge, Alberta, made the cut into the top four.

Yet just as the final four dancers head toward the number one spot, CTV has announced upcoming audition dates for a third season of the show.

The auditions will begin in Toronto on November 14, and hit Vancouver on December 5 at the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts (777 Homer Street), with registration starting at 8 a.m.

Auditions will also be held in Calgary, Montreal, and an undetermined East Coast city, with further details to be announced.

The current show wraps up with a finale on Sunday, October 25 (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

Fans will still have a chance to see Sandhu perform live as part of the 18-city Canadian tour of the show that will kick off in Kelowna on November 25, followed by a show in Vancouver on November 27.
