Expect Twi-hards to swoop down upon Pacific Cinémathí¨que's second annual Scene fundraiser and start a fierce bidding war. (Probably even fiercer than Tyra Banks' definition of fierce. Or Sasha Fierce, for that matter.)
Why? Well, it might just be because a copy of a certainTwilight series book New Moon, featuring the autographs of actors Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, and author Stephanie Meyer, will be one of the silent auction items at the November 19 event (6:30 p.m.) held at the Canvas Lounge (91 Powell Street).
The evening, hosted by CBC's Fred Lee, Canwest's Katherine Monk, and the Straight's own Ian Caddell, will feature cocktails, canapés, music, the aforementioned silent auction, and the opportunity to make a one-minute silent film with a green screen and props.
Tickets are $95 each (visit the Cinémathí¨que Web site or call their office at 604-688-8202). In case you weren't aware, the Cinémathí¨que (incorporated in 1972) is a not-for-profit society which presents over 500 film exhibitions each year, provides media literacy education for teachers and students, and houses film archives.
This year's event will be a part of the MMPIA's Motion Picture Industry Week (November 16 to 20).
