Top movies in Canada, Oct. 16-22: Law Abiding Citizen beats Wild Things

More Canadians chose to see the blood-splattered Law Abiding Citizen than Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are during the week of October 16 to 22. The Gerard Butler thriller debuted in the number one spot.

On the domestic film charts, Cairo Time increased its box office gross as it expanded to more theatres and rose to second place. 5150, Rue des Ormes made half of what it did the previous week, even though it opened in two additional theatres.

The box office performance of Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day  decreased by about  $246,000, slipping to number three, as it closed in 103 theatres.
