Canadian hip-hop artist K-os has been named Best Online Artist of the Year by the 2009 Canadian New Media Awards.

Vancouver-based Invoke Media, the creator of the Twitter app HootSuite, has been nominated in the Best Use of Social Media category.

The finalists and a few of the winners were announced Monday evening (November 2) at the Spoke Club in Toronto.

On December 1, the winners will be revealed at a gala ceremony at the Design Exchange during the nextMEDIA Toronto conference.
