Vanoc announces final chance to buy Olympic tickets

If you thought you missed your chance to spend hundreds of dollars on Olympic Games tickets—don’t fret because the folks at Vanoc are here to save the day.

A third and final phase of ticket sales for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games will begin on November 7 at 10 a.m. According to today’s press release more than 100,000 tickets will be made available, including those coveted gold medal hockey games, opening and closing ceremonies, and—of course—curling.

"The best winter athletes in the world will be here starting next February and the time to buy your Olympic and Paralympic tickets is now,” Caley Denton, vice president for ticketing and consumer marketing for VANOC said in the release. “We expect demand will be high".

In case you needed one more reason to open up that wallet and bust out the credit cards, Vanoc says that these final tickets will also be the last opportunity to purchase collectible souvenir-style tickets.

The ticket purchasing process is fairly straight forward; ticket buyers log onto www.vancouver2010.com and are directed to a virtual waiting room—because who doesn’t love waiting rooms?—where they will be randomly selected to enter the site and buy to their heart's content.

A tip for first-time buyers from Denton is to register a ticketing account prior to November 7, and take a look at the schedule in order to determine which dates work best for them.

Let the games begin.
