Jacksons Meats serves quality sandwiches for reasonable prices

By Carolyn Ali,

As the price of a lowly sandwich keeps creeping up, it’s nice to find an excellent one that doesn’t eat through your wallet. Jackson’s Meat & Deli (2214 West 4th Avenue) offers a choice of gratifying fillings for its ciabatta buns, grilled to order. The meat loaf sandwich is a deal at $5.45 and comes stuffed with house-made beef and pork meat loaf, sautéed onions, and sweet barbecue sauce. At $6.95, the steak sandwich sits at the top end of the menu, but it’s worth it for its strips of New York steak grilled medium-rare and layered with sautéed onions, Provolone, and a whiff of horseradish.
