NDP's Fin Donnelly easily wins New Westminster-Coquitlam by-election
The NDP candidate has waltzed to an easy victory in the New Westminster-Coquitlam federal by-election.
With 210 of 225 polls reporting, Fin Donnelly has opened up a 3,146-vote lead over his nearest competitor, Conservative Diana Dilworth. Donnelly has collected 11,026 votes compared to Dilworth's 7,880.
Liberal Ken Beck Lee is far back in third place with 1,962 votes. The Green candidate, Rebecca Helps, is in fourth spot with 962 votes.
As things stand now, Donnelly has 50.5 percent of the votes in the riding, which was held by the NDP's Dawn Black by narrower margins in 2008 and 2006. In 2004, voters reelected then-Conservative MP Paul Forseth.
The Conservatives won by-elections in Cumberland--Colchester--Musquodoboit Valley in Nova Scota and in Montmagny--L'Islet--Kamouraska--Rivière-du-Loup in Quebec.
The Bloc Quebecois won the other by-election in Hochelaga.
In an ominous sign for Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, his party came a distant third in all four by-election contests. The NDP finished ahead of the Liberals in three of those contests.

Oh ye, when will the NDP replace Layton, who is worse of a lame duck than Iggy?
Do the NDP exist in the MSM?
Do Harperite voters even think?
