Video: A sneak peak at the renovated Queen Elizabeth Theatre

      Vancouver Civic Theatres director Rae Ackerman and his team of dedicated workers offered a sneak preview of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre’s completed renovation to the media on November 12.

      Ackerman told media that the total cost of the renovation project was $48.5 million, with $23 million of that spent in the past six months to get the refurbished 50-year-old theatre finished in time for Jann Arden's performances on November 18 and 19, as well as the Vancouver Opera's production of Norma, which opens on November 28.

      In the video below, Toronto’s John O’Keefe of Aercoustics Engineering Ltd. explains why, as Ackerman said at the event, the acoustics grading can now be raised from “a D to an A”.
